Online Consultation Service
Ashleigh is one of Resonance’s leading Musculoskeletal and Rehabilitation Podiatrists. She has owned and operated a highly successful clinic in Lower Hutt, Wellington for the past eight years before relocating with her young family to Tauranga at the end of 2024 to be closer to family. Following her relocation and knowing the high demand for podiatry services and long wait-times, Ashleigh felt that providing an online consultation service was the most sensible move to help patients and clinicians alike.
What can I expect from an my online consultation?
Ashleigh will conduct a thorough subjective assessment, which involves asking a series of questions to obtain a comprehensive history to help build the clinical picture and work out your goals and what you hope to achieve from consulting a podiatrist.
How do I know Ashleigh is the right podiatrist for my situation?
You will be triaged over the phone by one of your friendly Resonance reception team when making your booking, to determine if you are best suited to an online video consultation or whether an in-person consultation is best for your needs.
How will my online consultation run?
Following the subjective assessment, Ashleigh may instruct you to perform a series of functional weightbearing clinical tests to help understand a bit about your strength, range of motion, and biomechanical function. Additionally, she may also need to analyse your gait and observe you walking or running if indicated. She may request to assess some of your most commonly worn footwear to observe the wear patterns if this is relevant to the clinical work up. Finally, once Ashleigh is satisfied with all assessments she will talk through her findings with you and provide you with your treatment options.
What treatment may be provided?
Treatment options may include advice and education, a programme of rehabilitation exercises, activity modification education if required, footwear recommendations, or product recommendations that will assist in your recovery (we are currently working on an online store that we can direct you to if a product recommendation is made).
What happens if I need to be seen in person?
If upon completing the consultation Ashleigh feels that a physical in-person consultation is required, she will discuss this with you and can provide an onwards referral to the most suitable clinician in your area, this will be decided in collaboration with you to get the best outcome. Please note that any reports or referrals will come with an additional fee.
How do I know Ashleigh can provide me the very best care?
Ashleigh is an Allied Health and ACC Accredited healthcare provider, which means that along with her Resonance colleagues they continue to meet and maintain the Allied Health Services standard, to ensure that all patients are receiving the highest standard of care.
How long is my appointment?
Please note that online consultations are 30 minutes and best suited to any individual experiencing musculoskeletal pain which may include: a foot or ankle injury, forefoot pain, midfoot pain, heel pain, or ankle pain. If you are experiencing a skin or nail issue such as corns, callus, or ingrown toenails then Ashleigh may be able to provide some preliminary advice around this however it is best that you seek an in-person podiatry consult to ensure that this can be tended to and resolved.
